The journey begins... Day 1

So... the journey begins with the plane ride. I had never been on a plane before so this was a new experience for me. The first short flight to Atlanta from Houston was nothing. Didn't bother me at all. The extremely long flight to Tel Aviv from Atlanta was a little long. My bottom did get a little tired of sitting. This is a picture of my very first dinner on a plane. It wasn't too bad. Cheese raviolis and a yummy brownie with oreos in it for dessert. Day one may be a little boring due to the fact that is was basically just the plane rides and checking into our hotel!

This is Lauren on the plane ride! As you can see, she's ready for some sleep after dinner with her sleep mask already on! I didn't sleep a whole lot on the way to Tel Aviv but I was able to catch a few zzz's.

This is the music screen on the plane. I was able to go through several cds they had and create a playlist of songs to listen to as we traveled so as not to waste my batteries on my own mp3 player. My first playlist was nice soothing, relaxing songs that I listened to to drown out the background noise on the plane and get some sleep. Other lists I created were just for fun listening when I was tired of watching movies.

This is the movie screen. There were several movies to choose from to watch. I think I watched like three movies on the way there. These screens were located on the backs of the seats in front of you. They also had a games option which had lots of games for you to play.

This was the screen which showed how close you were getting to your destination and told how many hours were left. It was a fun screen to watch when listening to my playlist of music.

After arriving, we went through all the checkpoints, picked up our luggage, and loaded our bus. It was dark when we got there so we really didn't see much on the ride to our hotel which was located in Tiberias and almost a three hour bus ride there! Blech! We finally made it, had dinner, and crashed for the night!

This was our view from our hotel room! Isn't it beautiful? That's the Sea of Galilee that you see!

And that concludes day 1 of my trip to Israel. I know it's not all that interesting, but stay tuned. Day 2 starts the Holy Land Tour! Lots of sites to see then! Every day I will add at least one day of my trip to this blog so check back daily to read more about my wonderful trip to Israel!
