I guess first I should start with the fact that this is actually day 3. Yesterday's entry was actually day 1 and day 2. We had two days of traveling and then on the third day we started the tour.
Day 3 started with a great breakfast of eggs and pancakes. We all met out at the bus to ride to our first site of the trip.

It was a very short ride to our boat and the Sea of Galilee. That was one of my favorite sites. We got on the boat and crossed the Sea of Galilee. Not only that, but this was January 31st, my birthday so everyone sang happy birthday to me as we crossed the sea. It was exciting and beautiful.
As you can see, Lauren and I were very excited about crossing the sea! It was also a very cold morning with cold winds so I'm very bundled up!
See how beautiful?!

Lauren and I love to take pictures so you can only imagine how many pictures we took on this trip! I'm only picking a few of each site and it still seems like a bunch!
This sign says no swimmung. I thought that was funny.
Our boat dropped us off at a museum where we saw the 2000 year old mystery boat.

As we walked out of the museum some soldiers had gone in and they left their weapons outside with one guard so this is what we saw when we walked out.
The next site was the Mt. of Beatitudes. We visited a church that was built on that site. It was beautitful. We visited many beautiful churches on this trip all built on the site where something biblical happened so you will see a lot of churches.

The next site was a church known as Tabgha for short. This is the place where Jesus fed the 5,000. At each location we read scripture relating to the event that happened there.

This is the stone that is believed to be where Jesus placed the five loaves and two fishes.

The next stop was the Church of the Primacy, or Peter's Primacy.

This rock is where, after breakfast, Jesus asked Peter if he loved Him three times and told him to feed His sheep after Peter answered each time. (John 21:15-17)

This church was located on a very rocky beach. Here's me by the water and then there's me and Lauren by the water!

The next site was Capernaum. As you can see from the sign, it is the town of Jesus.

This synagogue was built in the 3rd to 4th century a.d. but reminds us of the synagogue built by the Roman officer for the Jews in Jesus' day.

This is the church built over what is believed to be Peter's house. There is a glass floor in the middle where you can look down and see the house.

These are reconstructed remains of homes and stores from Jesus' day.
The next stop was lunch. Yay. We were all starving and very ready for it. That is, until we saw it.

And for dessert? Bananas and dates...
The next stop of the day was Beth-shan.

This is one of the best preserved Roman theaters in Palestine. It has a seating capacity of 8,000. It is similar to one that I see later on in my trip that was built by Herod the Great at Caesarea on the coast of Palestine.

Our group enjoying a scripture reading in the theater.

While we were there, there was a couple taking wedding pictures there. I wasn't fast enough to catch a front view of them, but here's a back view.
Our last site of the day was the Jordan River. I'm not going to post pictures from here on this day because we go back there on day 4 and so pictures will be posted from here on day 4's entry. That evening at the hotel at dinner the lights went out. Then the waiters came out with a cake and candles and everyone sang happy birthday to me. Unfortunately I did not think to take a picture of the yummy super sweet chocolate pie/cake, but it was good. Hope that satisfies your curiosity on day 3. Picture loading takes a long time. As it is, I'm cutting out tons of pictures. If you'd like to see ALL of my pictures, just ask and you can come by some time to view them all. Otherwise, enjoy the three to four pictures I'm posting from each site!
