The long awaited 7th day...

Well, here goes nothing. I'm trying to piece together details with pictures and it is very difficult. Unfortunately, my camera battery died this day so there aren't pictures of every site I got to visit. That being said, I will post some of the pictures taken and just give some details on the other sites I visited without pictures.

The first stop of the day was the Chapel of the Ascension. This is on the Mount of Olives, where Jesus ascended into heaven and prophesied that He would come again in power and glory.

Next was the Haas Promenade where we enjoyed a panoramic view of the Old City walls and the hill called Mount Moriah where Abraham was commanded by God to offer Isaac as a burnt offering. We could also see the Kidron Valley and the Valley of Gehenna. Jesus was led through the Kidron Valley after being arrested and taken to be judged. Around this area is where I got to ride my first and only camel!
We also stopped at the site on the slope of the Mount of Olives that commemorates the tears Jesus shed over His city before His entry into Jerusalem. This site is called Dominus Flevit. "He beheld the city, and wept over it." Luke 19:41
I'm going to take a break now and will come back later with some scenic views, my visit to the Garden of Gethsemane and the Basilica of Agony, and then the many other sites visited without pictures due to a dead camera battery. I've forgotten what a pain it is loading pictures on this site so a break is needed! I'll be back later to hopefully finish out all of day 7!
